Trying to install “brew” on a computer foreign computer I was hung up on this the today. How rather dumb! How to normally install brew: $ /usr/bin/ruby -e "$(curl -fsSL https://raw.github.com/gist/323731)" => curl: (1) Protocol https not supported or disabled in libcurl Thought this was going to be easy right, wtf? So, I had to go here: http://curl.haxx.se/docs/faq.html and http://curl.haxx.se/download.html Do a little reading about how curl probably doesn’t have ssl support installed, figure it’s best to reinstall, pick my flavor, and download into ~/src. I put all downloads in a ~/src directory. It makes them easy to find if you ever need. Then I do this $ cd ~/src $ tar -xzf curl-7.21.7-1-osx6-x86.tar.gz $ cd curl-7.21.7 $ ./configure –with-ssl[…]
